Gala Employee Anniversary Party and Employee Recognition
Saturday, October 1, 2005 noon
to 4 p.m. McKee Ball Field (rain or shine)
All WHOI employees, students, retirees, and their families are invited to
a party to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Wood Hole Oceanographic Institution
and the people who have made the Institution a success. In addition to a delicious
menu of dishes from the many ports visited by our ships, a number of events
and activities are planned to make this a very memorable occasion. Some of
the activities are listed below. Your participation would make the day even
better. We look forward to seeing you.
» Watch for a paper invitation with a return coupon
to let us know how many party goers to expect. There will be no charge for
this event.

Recognition
Please join us at one o'clock as we celebrate the commitment, spirit,

Classic Car Show
A '56 Morgan, an Austin-Healy 3000, and a Porsche 911 are just some
of the cars that will be up for view at WHOI's first-ever classic car
show. Owners of vintage and sports cars are invited to display their
treasures for the enjoyment of all attending the 75th Anniversary Employee
Party.

Arts and crafts show
An indoor exhibit called "On Our Own Time" will showcase the creative
hobbies of WHOI employees in their time outside work. Items on display
will range from needlework creations to numismatic collections and from
photography to philately. The exhibit is intended to provide the opportunity
to appreciate unknown talents of our co-workers or perhaps discover
a shared interest. If you have a hobby or unusual collection that you
would like to display, let us know about it.

Silent
Auction
The proceeds of a silent auction of goods and services donated by WHOI
employees for WHOI employees will benefit the Falmouth Service Center
and the Cape Cod Free Clinic. You could donate a photograph, a ride
on your boat, or a free lesson in something you excel at; promise to
bake a cake, deliver loaves of bread, or provide a family meal; or offer
sewing services, bike repair, kid or pet sitting, lawn mowing, window
washing. The possibilities are endless, and this offers a chance to
get to know fellow employees better while supporting worthy causes.
